Has anyone else been following the details of Patrice Smith's case? I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that her case was marked "Cleared by Exception." It feels so unresolved. I can't imagine how her family must feel knowing that a suspect was identified, yet justice hasn't been fully served. I wonder if the public nature of the other homicides that year in Lexington influenced how this case was handled or perceived. It just seems like there are so many questions left unanswered about what led to this tragic event. I hope more light can be shed on this case someday, providing some sense of closure to those who loved her. Any legal experts here who can explain more about what "Cleared by Exception" means in cases like these? It's all so confusing and frustrating.
