I've been thinking a lot about Sallie Ann Newton, especially knowing she was a nurse at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital. It's so devastating to lose someone who dedicated her life to helping others. I wonder if anyone who knew her professionally has come forward with stories or memories of her impact? Knowing how deeply she touched the lives of her patients and colleagues might bring some comfort to her family and friends during this tragic time. The idea that someone who spent her life healing others could be taken so violently is almost too much to bear. Hoping her loved ones find support and strength in the community as things continue to unfold. If anyone has more info or wants to share memories of her, please do. We need to keep her spirit alive.

I can't even begin to imagine what Newton's family and friends are going through right now. I've been thinking a lot about the fact that she was a nurse at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital. It seems like she dedicated her life to taking care of people, and it’s just gut-wrenching to think that she was taken from us in such a violent way. I didn’t know Sallie personally, but I feel like people who commit their lives to helping others leave a special mark on our communities. Does anyone know if the hospital is doing anything in her memory? Maybe something like a scholarship for nursing students or a memorial fund? It just feels like there should be something to honor her legacy. My thoughts are with her daughters and sister. They’ve lost not just a mother and sister, but someone who probably was a guiding force in their lives. I hope they’re able to find some peace and support in the midst of all this.
