I was thinking today about the ripple effect of these senseless acts of violence and couldn't help but reflect on how someone like Rickey, with such a love for life and family, must have touched everyone around him. I didn't know him personally, but from what I've read, his warmth and kindness were like a glue that held people together, especially his family. The idea that his granddaughter and daughter have had that taken from them is just tragic. How do you explain such an abrupt and violent absence to a child? It's hard to imagine the strength his family has needed to endure all of this, not just in seeking justice, but in coping with his sudden loss. Sending thoughts to them and hoping the Louisville community can heal together.
