I’ve been following the case of Larry D. Randle and it just breaks my heart to think about the environment he and others were living in back in 2013. It's concerning how Englewood, Austin, and Garfield Park were bearing so much of the violence that year. It’s like these neighborhoods were under siege, and families were living in fear each day. What’s even more upsetting is the systemic issues that have perpetuated this cycle of violence for so long. It’s not just about one incident; it’s about creating safer communities and addressing the underlying factors that led to such a tragic loss. I can’t help but think about Larry's family and friends, and what they must have gone through, knowing he was one of many affected by this terrible wave of violence. How do we move forward and ensure these neighborhoods get the attention and resources they desperately need?
