I can't stop thinking about the impact this has on Mohamed Hassan’s teammates and coaches. Losing someone so vibrant and talented right before his senior year of high school must be devastating for the entire basketball community. It's hard not to imagine the empty spot he'll leave on the court and in the locker room.
High school sports can be such a tight-knit part of someone's life, like a second family. It’s really unfair that his friends and teammates have to process this loss on top of the fear and confusion of knowing little about what exactly happened that night.
Let’s hope that someone comes forward with information soon, not just for Mohamed’s family, but also for those youngsters who looked up to him as a teammate and a friend. They deserve answers and a sense of closure.
