I can't stop thinking about how brave Officer Wilson C. Alex was. It's truly gut-wrenching to imagine what he faced in his last moments trying to protect someone in need. Eighteen years with the Junction City Police Department after serving our country with distinction is an incredible legacy of commitment. It's such a loss for his family and the community. Those two children, even though they came out physically unharmed, will likely carry the weight of that night their entire lives. It's heartbreaking to think about the ripple effect of this tragedy. My heart goes out to Officer Alex’s wife and stepchildren as they navigate this immense loss.
