Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of community involvement in crimes like the tragic murder of Uyer Hooper. It’s so important for us to come together and help the authorities as much as possible. I can’t imagine what his family is going through, and while I’m glad they caught Dejuan Etheridge, there might still be more pieces to the puzzle we can help with. If you were in the 6400 block of 7th Street, NW that night or if you heard or saw anything unusual, even if it seems insignificant, it might be more important than you think. These things stick with you, and sometimes a small detail can make a huge impact. It's a reminder that our community's safety often depends on each of us doing our part. Also, hats off to the detectives working tirelessly on this. Let’s keep an open conversation and do what we can to support Uyer's loved ones and the folks working this case. Who else feels this way? Any thoughts on how communities can better engage in helping these investigations? Stay safe, everyone.
