I want to share something that's been on my mind about the recent tragedy involving Markeyo Carr. I can't stop thinking about how senseless this loss is, not just for his loved ones, but for the entire community. I did some reading and found out that Markeyo was a promising student with dreams and goals, a young life full of potential that was cut short.
It's so disheartening to see young people getting caught in the crossfire of these ongoing gang conflicts, especially someone like Markeyo, who wasn’t even involved. It's such a stark reminder of how critical it is for us to push for more support and resources in these neighborhoods. I’m hopeful that highlighting these stories can bring about some change, but we all know that the road is long.
