I’ve been following the Brayan Villatoro case and have been struck by how crucial surveillance footage was in identifying Mussay Rezene as the suspect. It’s chilling to see how technology can be a double-edged sword—on one hand, it invades our privacy, but on the other, it can be vital in bringing justice to victims and their families. The detail about Rezene's shoes being spotted in a social media photo is particularly haunting. I'm relieved that the evidence was strong enough to convict him, but I can't imagine the pain Brayan’s family must be enduring, even with a guilty verdict. At least they can see this as some form of justice, though no sentence can undo what’s been done. My heart truly goes out to them.
