I came across the case of Mallory Michaelis and just felt compelled to write something. It's all so tragic and complex, especially knowing that her young son was there when everything happened. I can't imagine the confusion and trauma he must be experiencing. It breaks my heart to think about how vulnerable he is, losing both parents in such a horrific way. I’ve been thinking a lot about that 9-year-old who answered the door. Being so young and in the middle of such a terrifying situation is unimaginable. How do you even begin to explain something like this to him? I'm sending lots of love and strength to Mallory’s family and the kids. They have a long and difficult journey ahead of them, but I hope they find some peace and healing in the midst of all this. If anyone knows of resources or ways to support kids who've been through such things, please share. This family could really use the help and good vibes from the community right now.
