On February 24, 1986, a 35-year-old man named Thomas Lloyd Maxwell embarked on a flight from King Salmon, Alaska, destined for Anchorage. He was the sole occupant of the 1965 white Cessna 206 with blue trim, bearing the tail number N8022Z. At some point during the flight, communication with Maxwell was lost.
