Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the discussions about Walter "Junior" Hidalgo Jr.’s case, and I can’t stop thinking about the broader impact on his school and peers at Cheyenne High. As a 10th grader who clearly had a passion for video games and biking, it's clear Walter was more than just a name on a news article—he was a beloved classmate and friend.
I really feel for his classmates who are undoubtedly struggling to process this loss. Losing a friend is such a heavy burden at any age, but especially during high school when friendships mean so much. I wonder how the school is handling this. Are there counselors available for students, and how are they supporting his friends and peers?
For any fellow community members who might know, is there a memorial planned at the school, or any local initiatives to remember Walter? It’s incredible how tight-knit communities can come together at times like this, and I genuinely hope students and teachers are finding some solace in each other.
If anyone’s heard updates or has more insights, please share. Walter’s story deserves to be remembered, and his family and friends need all the support they can get.
Thanks for reading.
