I came across this case recently, and I can't stop thinking about Beatriz and her bravery during such a terrifying situation. Can you imagine the courage it must have taken to call 911 while knowing her life was in danger? What she did was incredibly courageous, and I hope it isn't overlooked. It breaks my heart to think about what Beatriz and her family went through. This whole situation really shines a light on how the system needs to be more robust in protecting domestic violence survivors. Beatriz did everything right, yet the system still failed her in the worst way possible. It's so frustrating. If only there had been more protections or monitoring in place after such severe charges were initially made against Sanchez, maybe things would have been different. Does anyone know if there have been any legislative changes in Colorado since this case? I'm hoping some good can come from this tragedy.
