I’ve been following the Lorbiecki case and my thoughts keep coming back to the children. How terrifying it must have been for them to witness the violence that night and then have the courage to run and seek help. It's a relief that they found safety with their aunt and uncle, but I can't imagine the trauma they will need to overcome. It’s so important that they’re in a supportive environment where they can process what happened and eventually heal. Hearing how the family is rallying around them gives me some hope, and I hope they continue to receive the care they need. If anyone has resources or ideas on how to support children who’ve been through something like this, I'd love to hear them. These kids need all the community support they can get.
Has anyone else been thinking about what those poor kids went through? I can't even imagine the trauma they experienced, waking up to such violence and then having to flee their own home in fear. It's one thing hearing about domestic violence but when the children are caught in the crossfire like this, it just adds another layer of tragedy. Kudos to their aunt Angie for stepping up in such a difficult time. My heart genuinely goes out to them, and I hope they're getting all the help and support they need. It's another chilling reminder of the lasting impact domestic violence can have on families, especially the kids. How do you even begin to move forward from witnessing something like that?
Hi everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Karyn Lorbiecki's case and something that really stands out is how brave her children were during this ordeal. Can you imagine how horrifying it must have been for them to wake up to their father attacking their mom? Their quick decision to flee the house likely saved their lives, and I'm so relieved they made it out safely. It's such a testament to their resilience and presence of mind in a terrifying situation.
I hope they're receiving all the support they need to heal from this trauma. It's heartbreaking to know that they had to bear witness to such violence and will have to carry those memories with them. Huge respect to Karyn’s family, especially Angie Ragsdale, for stepping in to care for these kids. It takes a village, and this family’s love and strength are inspiring in the face of such tragedy.
What do you all think are some ways communities can better support children who witness domestic violence? They deserve all the protection and care we can give them.
Sending thoughts to everyone involved.
