Hearing about the terrible events in Colorado Springs back in February 2020 still gives me chills. I just can’t stop thinking about the bravery of the witnesses who stepped forward during such a terrifying ordeal. Imagine the courage it took to call 911 or provide statements when everything was so chaotic and dangerous. Their actions must have played a crucial role in helping police piece together the sequence of events, and likely saved others from getting hurt. While nothing can bring back Carl M. Thompson, Jr. and the other victim, knowing that these bystanders took a stand and acted in the midst of fear, maybe that can provide a bit of solace to the families. My heart goes out to them—I hope they see how the community came together amidst the madness.

Has anyone else been following the investigation into Carl Thompson Jr.'s tragic murder? It's just so unsettling to think about how quickly things escalated during that violent spree. It leaves me questioning what measures are in place (or need to be) to prevent incidents like this in the future. More than anything, my heart goes out to Carl's family and friends. I can't imagine the grief they're experiencing right now. Colorado Springs is still in shock, and while it's good that conversations are happening about safety, I hope more concrete steps are taken soon. What are your thoughts?
