I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on Davarie's friends, especially the ones who were with him at that terrible moment. It must be incredibly hard for them. Being there, trying to help, and then watching everything unfold... it's something no one should ever have to go through. These kids were just trying to have a good time, and then it turned into something so awful. I hope they're getting the support they need to process this—counseling, a safe space to share their feelings, anything. They lost a friend in such a traumatic way, and they need as much love and understanding as possible. Let’s keep them in our thoughts as much as his family.

I’ve been following Davarie Armstrong’s case, and my heart goes out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. As a parent, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain of losing a son in such a tragic way. What truly stands out to me are the actions of Davarie during that terrible night. From everything I’ve read, it seems he was a kind soul, stepping in to help a friend in need, showing the kind of bravery and compassion we should all aspire to. It’s absolutely devastating that this young man, who had such a bright future with ambitions to attend an HBCU and excel in sports, was taken far too soon. This incident really highlights the urgent need for addressing gun violence among youth. How do we as a community come together to prevent such loss? Mayor Hancock mentioned a community-wide response to gun violence, and I’m interested in learning more about what specific actions are proposed or being taken. Are there programs or initiatives already in place, or that need our support, to help bring about change? Also, does anyone know how Davarie’s school community is coping? It must be so hard for those students, and I hope they’re getting the support they need.
