On a tragic Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1990, Prince William County Police Officer Philip Michael 'Mike' Pennington, a 35-year-old male, lost his life in the line of duty in Dale City, Virginia. An 11-year veteran of the police force, Pennington was part of a SWAT team executing a search warrant at a residence on Dodson Drive. The warrant was connected to the shooting of an Arlington County sheriff's deputy that had occurred earlier.
