Hey everyone, I can’t wrap my head around how this could happen despite the protective orders that were in place. It makes me so angry and sad for Lindsay and Meadow. It seems like she did everything she could to keep herself and her kids safe from Acevedo. Does anyone have insight into how these orders are enforced? I keep thinking about how these pieces of paper should protect victims, but sometimes they just fall short. My heart goes out to the family, especially the surviving kids who had to endure such a horrifying ordeal. ? Does anyone know if there are reforms happening in Colorado or elsewhere to make sure protection orders have more bite? Stay safe, everyone.

I've been following the Loveland case, and I can't stop thinking about the four young children who survived the ordeal. They must be going through unimaginable pain and confusion after losing their mother and sister in such a horrific way. As a community, we need to wrap our arms around these kids and ensure they have all the support they need to heal. I've seen the GoFundMe set up by the family to help with funeral costs and provide for the surviving children, and I hope it reaches its goal quickly. It’s a small way to help them start piecing their lives back together. I often wonder how we can prevent tragedies like this and better enforce protection orders, especially for families already dealing with past violence. My heart goes out to everyone touched by this senseless violence.

Has anyone else felt compelled to learn more about the protective orders in this case? It’s so difficult to comprehend how someone like Javier Acevedo, with such a troubling history, was allowed to get close to Lindsay and Meadow again. I’m heartaching for them and the kids left behind. Just thinking about those young kids who were present during this terrifying event gives me chills. They’ll likely carry those scars for a lifetime. ? It’s infuriating to think multiple protective orders and warnings weren’t enough to keep this man away. How could the system not have enforced stricter measures, especially given his past? The fact that a 12-year-old had to hide and call 911 to report seeing such a tragedy unfolds is unimaginable. My thoughts are with the family, wishing them strength and hoping for reform to prevent something like this from happening again. If anyone knows where we can reach out to offer support for the kids or if there are advocacy groups involved, please share. Those kids need all the love and support they can get right now.
