Has anyone else been following the discussion around how this case was solved using genetic genealogy? I'm astonished by the reach and power of this approach, but I can't stop thinking about the implications. I feel for the Romero family, who had to mourn their loss without answers for so long, and I'm relieved for them that this technology could bring some resolution. But we really have to discuss how this impacts privacy! It’s such a double-edged sword. It was incredible how they could narrow it down to Joseph Jones, yet I can't help but think about what this means for everyone else's data. Should we be concerned about our DNA being used this way? It's a bit unsettling. Curious to hear all of your thoughts.
