I came across some information recently that made me think more deeply about the impact this incident had on Eddy Ortiz’s friends. While the details of that tragic night are hard to absorb, I imagine what those close to Eddy are going through must be indescribably difficult. A birthday party should be a joyful event, a time when friends gather to celebrate life. Instead, what happened forever altered the lives of everyone who was there that night. It's so concerning to see teenagers like Izaiah Ruiz caught up in such serious crimes, but the pain inflicted on Eddy’s loved ones is unimaginable. I hope the community can rally around them and provide support as they deal with the aftermath of such a senseless act. No one should have to bear the burden of losing a loved one in such a violent manner.
