Has anyone else given thought to the location of the shooting? The Desert Lodge Motel seems like a hotspot for crime, especially given its reputation and the area it’s in. It makes me wonder if George was targeted due to his past or if he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Motel environments often see a lot of transient traffic, which could make it relatively easy for someone to come and go unnoticed.
It’s concerning that there are no suspect descriptions out yet. I feel for his family having to wait for answers. Someone out there must have seen or heard something that could help the investigation. If you're from the Las Cruces area, please keep your ears open and reach out to the police with anything that might seem relevant, no matter how small it might appear. Let's hope justice is served soon, and community vigilance might just be the key.
Hey everyone,
I'm really starting to wonder about the location of the Desert Lodge Motel. Does anyone else find it odd that this happened right on Picacho Avenue? I've driven by that area several times, and it's always struck me as a place that sees its fair share of troubles. With George Washington Abbott's shooting taking place in the middle of the afternoon, I can't help but think there must have been witnesses or people nearby who saw something—it's a pretty busy spot.
My heart really goes out to Abbott’s family. It's hard to imagine what they must be going through, especially with the uncertainty and not having any leads on the suspects yet. I hope people start coming forward with information soon.
Does anyone have thoughts on how the Motel's management could help, like maybe by checking any security footage or talking to long-term residents who might've seen something unusual? It just seems like with such a public location, there’s got to be some evidence waiting to be uncovered. Let's hope LCPD finds the answers they need soon. Stay safe out there, everyone!
