I've been following Tyris R. Jackson's case, and it's just devastating how another life was senselessly taken away on our streets. What really gets me is imagining those last moments for him, just walking in his neighborhood, not knowing what was about to happen. The fact that this happened in broad daylight with others around makes it all the more terrifying. It's clear something needs to change in Chicago. I feel for his family and friends who are left to pick up the pieces and carry on without him. How many more heartaches do families have to endure before lasting change comes? My thoughts are with them as they navigate such a difficult time. It really highlights the urgency for deeper community intervention and support.
