Did anyone else attend that community meeting last month about gang violence in Portland? I think it was held to address the broader issues highlighted after the tragic loss of Hahrahcio Roy Branch. It's sobering to hear firsthand how deep-rooted these issues are in certain neighborhoods. Hearing from those living in the area, it’s clear that people are really fearful and feel caught in the crossfire. I can’t imagine what Branch's family is going through, knowing that justice still hasn’t been served. It frustrates me how little progress seems to have been made, but it was heartening to see so many people coming together with the hope of redirecting young folks from gangs. Maybe increased community engagement and pressure will eventually lead to some answers. What do you all think?
