Has anyone else noticed how the community always suffers after these tragedies? Marquise T. Moore was such a young soul with so much potential, and it makes me think about the impact on those who knew and loved him—his family, friends, and even people he might’ve touched during his time growing up in Portland. The aftermath of his murder reverberates beyond just the statistics and news headlines. It creates a void that affects everyone around. I read about how he went to Humboldt Elementary and was involved with Self Enhancement Inc., and I imagine he had a tight-knit group around him who are now left with countless unanswered questions. As someone who's seen how such losses can affect a community, my thoughts really go out to everyone dealing with his absence.
