Did anyone else hear anything about changes in police protocols after Detective Smith's tragic incident in 2006? I've seen discussions about similar cases where these events push departments to rethink how they handle undercover ops. It's absolutely devastating to think about the dangers these officers face every day, and in situations like this, you'd hope that lessons are learned to prevent such tragedies. I can’t imagine the pain Detective Smith’s family and the whole Beckley community went through. Just makes you wonder how many officers risk it all every day for the sake of our safety. Curious if any adjustments were made to ensure better security for undercover officers after this tragedy. Any insights or updates would be greatly appreciated.
