I still can't get over the shock of this tragedy. As a Shepherd alum, the events of that day are forever imprinted on my memory. I remember the campus being eerily quiet due to the holiday weekend, but the news still spread like wildfire. Thinking about Logan and Benjamin's friends and classmates who were suddenly faced with such unimaginable grief breaks my heart. They were like family to many in the Shepherdstown community, and navigating back to campus life afterward must have been tremendously difficult. Also, I think it’s important to consider the first responders and medical staff who dealt with this. Imagine being called to a scene like that, dealing with the aftermath, especially in a small town where incidents like this are rare. It’d take a toll on anyone. My thoughts are with everyone who was touched by this tragedy, even years later.
