On a quiet Labor Day weekend at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, a horrific and unexpected tragedy unfolded. Logan P. Pennington, a 26-year-old White male, was fatally shot on September 2, 2006. The incident, which also claimed the life of his younger brother, took place in the parking lot of Thacher Residence Hall on the university campus where both brothers were seniors.
