I've been thinking a lot about the psychological toll this must have taken on both Matthew’s and Nicole’s families. The act of concealing Matthew’s body in that way really strikes me. It shows a deep panic or maybe even a disconnect from reality in the aftermath of such a tragic event. It's terrifying to think about the mental state someone must be in to go from an argument to that level of violence, and then to attempt hiding it. My heart goes out to Matthew's mother, who must have been worried sick when she couldn't reach him. I can't even begin to imagine the horror she faced learning the truth. The layers of deceit only add more distress to an already tragic situation.
