Hey all, I’ve been following Gerald W. Bonner’s case and something that really struck me is the tragic way in which his body was discovered. I can't even begin to imagine how those two kids who found him near the dumpster must be feeling. That’s a trauma nobody should have to experience, especially at such a young age. It's such a harsh reminder of how violence can ripple outwards and affect even those who aren't directly involved. The community's response, especially from leaders like State Representative Ako Abdul Samad, seems promising in terms of addressing the underlying issues contributing to this violence. Still, it’s so hard to think about the impact on Gerald’s family, friends, and even those kids who stumbled upon such a horrific scene. My thoughts are with all of them. If there’s anything positive to come out of this, I hope it’s that his passing catalyzes the change and engagement the community desperately needs. Stay safe, everyone.
