I’ve been thinking a lot about the possible motives behind Darrell’s tragic murder. From everything I’ve read, it seems like he was truly loved by his family and friends, and his routine was so predictable that it almost feels like this was a planned attack from the start. It breaks my heart thinking that someone might have been keeping such a close and sinister watch on him.
I can’t even begin to imagine the horror his aunt, Desiree, must feel, having raised him and then having to experience such a loss. ? Her strong belief that his attackers might’ve had a vendetta against his friends really makes me wonder about the kind of relationships he had within the community. Were there underlying tensions or disputes that might have put him at risk? Was there something else at play that hasn’t come to light yet?
