I've been following the case of Leland Harris for a while, and I just keep thinking about the impact his loss must have on his loved ones. I can't imagine what they went through, waiting years for some clarity and justice. It must have been such an incredible relief mixed with so much pain when James Phillips finally pleaded guilty. It's another step towards closure, but I'm sure nothing truly fills the void left behind by his passing. The community, including the Cedar Rapids PD, really came together to work on this case, and that shows just how much Leland meant to those who knew him. It’s a sad reminder of how quickly someone’s life can be cut short, and my thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy.
