Hey everyone, I've been following the case of David Easley, and I can't help but feel deeply saddened for his family and the entire Englewood community. I was looking up crime stats and found that 2016 was such a devastating year in Chicago with all the gun violence—just unreal. It's terrifying to think about how easy it is for guns to land in the wrong hands, and the ripple effect it has on neighborhoods everywhere. What’s really bugging me is how everyday folks like Easley become part of these statistics, often caught in situations they didn’t choose to be in. I wonder how his family is coping and if there’s anything we can do to help communities like Englewood heal and become safer. Also, with the trial coming up for Christian Sivels, it seems like there needs to be more attention on making systemic changes rather than just dealing with symptoms of the problem. Thoughts? What’s everyone’s take on ways communities can be supported during such tough times?
