I just can't stop thinking about the Snapchat video that led to Anthony Mendoza's arrest. It's chilling to think that someone would confess to such a horrific act on social media like it was nothing. I can't imagine the pain Christian's family must feel, knowing that the person responsible for his death was so nonchalant about it. It makes me wonder what goes through someone's mind when they decide to share something so incriminating. Were they trying to brag, or did they not fully grasp the gravity of what they'd done? This case underlines how powerfully social media can impact investigations, but it also sheds light on the disconnect some young people have from the real-life consequences of their actions. My heart goes out to Christian's loved ones—losing a vibrant young soul to senseless violence is a tragedy no family should have to endure.
