I can’t stop thinking about Joseph Bateman and how he was tied to so many tragic events before his own murder. What really caught my attention was that he had survived a shooting just a year before his death. It's chilling to think about the fear and danger he must have lived with day to day, knowing the threats against his life were so real. My heart truly goes out to his family, who must navigate life without him amidst all these unanswered questions. It also makes me wonder about the environment he found himself trapped in, one marked by relentless street violence and gang rivalries. I hope that, even if justice wasn't served in the way we'd hoped through the trial, there will be continued efforts to bring some closure and peace to those still grieving. The community deserves healing, and a future where youths aren't entrenched in cycles of violence.
