I’ve been following the case of Carlos Gonzalez, and I can't stop thinking about how different his life might have been had he not been taken from us. It seems like he had so much ahead of him, not just for himself but for his family too. As someone who relocated back and forth between Meriden and New Haven, he likely found comfort in familiar surroundings and communities. Knowing he worked as a marble granite fabricator, I wonder how many New Haven homes or businesses have little pieces of Carlos that will last for years. I can't imagine the struggle Wanda Santana is going through right now, looking at the work he left behind and thinking about the future they're missing out on together. It's so upsetting to see another family having to navigate life without their loved one because of senseless violence. I hope the people of New Haven and anyone who knows anything are able to help his family find some closure. Carlos deserved so much more, and it seems like the city should be demanding answers.
