A young Hispanic man's life was tragically cut short on a Sunday morning in New Haven, Connecticut. On August 2, 2020, 22-year-old Carlos Gonzalez was found lying on a sidewalk on First Street in the Hill neighborhood. The first police officer arrived at the scene near Kimberly Avenue around 8:45 a.m. to find Gonzalez suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical crews quickly began to render aid to the young man. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
