On August 2, 2020, Carlos Gonzalez, a 22-year-old resident of Meriden, Connecticut, was fatally shot in New Haven. The incident occurred around 8:44 a.m. near the intersection of Kimberly Avenue and First Street. Responding officers found Gonzalez lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds; he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
