I've been thinking about the sequence of events leading up to the tragic loss of Desmond "Buck" Wray. It's such a harsh reminder of how swiftly lives can be altered. I'm particularly struck by the fact that Buck attempted to drive himself to safety after being shot. It’s both heartbreaking and deeply revealing of his will to survive. I can’t imagine the panic and fear he must have felt in those moments. Knowing he was trying to get to the hospital is just devastating, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends who are left to navigate this unimaginable loss. I hope the community can rally around them and offer support during such a tough time. The arrest of Gregory Hopkins shows some progress in getting justice for Buck, but it also leaves so many questions about what led to this violent act. Why target him? What could have been done to prevent it? Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on how we as a community can work towards stopping these senseless acts. Peace and love to Buck's family.
