I've been following the Michael Foley case closely and I can't stop thinking about how tragic it is not just for Michael's family, but also for the second victim – the man who was inadvertently caught up in this horrific event. Imagine just going about your day, and suddenly your life is turned upside down because you happened to be in the wrong place.
I'm relieved he's survived, but it's important we remember the trauma this has likely caused him and his family. I hope he gets the support he needs to heal, both physically and emotionally. As for Michael's family, I can't even begin to fathom what they're going through. It's such a senseless loss, and I hope justice will bring them some measure of peace.
Also, if anyone knows how that second victim is doing now, please share. It's a reminder of how these acts of violence affect so many lives beyond the immediate target.
