Has anyone else been following the case of Marquis Williams from 2016? I was just reading about how 2016 was such a tough year for Chicago, with rampant violence and more lives lost to senseless acts like the one that took Marquis from his family at just 17. It made me think about how we often focus on stats and numbers but sometimes overlook the personal stories and the people impacted. The fact that communities like North Lawndale and Englewood are still fighting daily battles against violence is something we can't ignore. I just pray that his family finds peace somehow amid this chaos. How do we even begin to tackle the gun flow into Chicago when this has been a long-standing issue?
