Has anyone else been following the tragedy of Jeremiah Parker's murder? My heart goes out to his family and all who loved him. I've been thinking a lot about the systemic issues that lead to such senseless violence. It seems like these young men, like Jeremiah, are often caught in situations beyond their control, and it breaks my heart every time I read about another lost life. I've seen some discussion about community intervention programs, and I genuinely hope that we can find more effective ways to reach these vulnerable neighborhoods. While there are definitely efforts being made, I feel like there’s still so much more that needs to be done to prevent these situations. Has anyone seen examples of initiatives that have worked elsewhere? Maybe there's something we can advocate for in our communities to try to make a tangible change. It's devastating to think how many families are forever changed by this violence; they deserve answers and, hopefully, a future where they don’t have to live in fear.
