Thinking today about the immense courage it must take to walk into potentially dangerous situations day after day, as Deputy Mike Young did. It's chilling to consider what happened on that fateful day in Fredonia, and I'm moved by the bravery displayed by all the officers involved. In particular, I find it so resilient and brave of Deputy Young to have returned fire even while being critically wounded. It's a stark reminder of the relentless dedication law enforcement officers have to uphold, despite facing life-threatening circumstances. I can't imagine the grief his family and colleagues must have felt—and still feel—losing someone so dedicated and courageous under such tragic circumstances. I'm grateful that Marshal MJ survived, but the loss of Deputy Young is a profound one. His contribution to his community lives on, especially in Black Canyon City, with the fire department named in his honor. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved him.

I’ve been reading through the details of Deputy Sheriff Mike Young’s tragic passing, and it’s clear just how committed he was to his duty. One thing that stands out to me is the courage it takes to serve an arrest warrant knowing the risks involved, especially when facing someone with a criminal background like the suspect in this case. Despite the outcome, I believe Deputy Young’s bravery and determination to uphold the law should be remembered and honored. It’s a chilling reminder of the perils law enforcement officers like Deputy Young confront each day. My heart goes out to his family, who lost not just a dedicated officer, but a beloved husband, father, and brother. His sacrifice shouldn't be forgotten, and it's fitting that the fire department was named in his honor. My thoughts are also with Town Marshal MJ, who survived, but must carry the weight of this horrific incident. What a reminder of the thin line officers walk every day between safety and danger.

Just read about the case of Deputy Sheriff Mike Young, and it's been sitting heavy on my heart. I can't help but think of his daughters and how they're coping with this terrible loss all these years later. Losing a parent in such a violent and senseless way is something no child should go through. It’s clear that Deputy Young was dedicated to his community and protecting those around him, and it’s truly tragic that his life was cut short while doing his duty. I hope that the kindness and bravery he showed carries on in the lives of those who knew him best. My thoughts are with his family, especially his daughters. It's good to see that his legacy is honored with the naming of the fire department; I hope it serves as a lasting tribute to his sacrifice.
