I've been thinking a lot about the gathering that Devin and his friends were at on Thanksgiving. It’s so incredibly sad to hear about what happened in a space where people should have felt safe and secure, especially on a day meant for gratitude and togetherness. It makes you wonder how someone could reach a point where they decide to pull out a weapon among friends. The fact that they were all familiar with each other is really haunting to me. I can’t help but think about the betrayal that the victims must have felt in those final moments. I hope the authorities can uncover what led up to this senseless act. It's crucial for the families and friends left behind to understand why this tragedy happened to help with their healing process. My heart goes out to Devin and La Vontay’s families. Losing someone suddenly and violently, especially at such a young age, is unimaginable. These are people's children, siblings, and friends. They deserved so much better than to have their lives cut short this way. I genuinely hope the community and authorities can rally together to make sure that no more lives are lost to violence like this.
