Hi everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Kentrell Thompson's case and the impact it has on the Chicago community, especially during that violent weekend in 2017. I can't help but feel for his family and friends who were left to deal with the aftermath of such a senseless act. It's been six years, and I wonder if there have been any new developments or leads on a suspect. I know it's tough because there were no immediate arrests, but it's disheartening thinking the assailant is still out there.
Also, I’m curious about how the community has responded since then. Have there been any initiatives or changes in the Goose Island area to help prevent this kind of tragedy? It seems like when these incidents happen, there's a call for action, but it's hard to say if anything truly changes in the long term. Would love to hear any insights, thoughts, or updates from those who are familiar with or live in the area.
Thanks for reading, and let's keep Kentrell's memory in our thoughts as we hope for justice and safer streets.
Did anyone else notice the lack of surveillance footage being mentioned in the reports on Kentrell Thompson's case? With the shooting taking place at a busy gas station in the middle of a violent weekend, you would think there'd be more information from cameras around the area. It feels so frustrating that in a time when almost everything is caught on tape, this case seems to have few leads. I've seen families in similar situations advocate for more transparency regarding any available footage - maybe that could help here as well. My heart goes out to Kentrell's family and friends during what I can't begin to imagine is an incredibly hard time. Here's hoping for some movement in this investigation soon.
