Has anyone else been thinking about the role of surveillance footage in Michael Rowe’s case? In this tragic and deeply emotional situation, it's heartbreaking to imagine that the whole terrible series of events was caught on camera. I can't even begin to fathom what Michael's friends and family are going through, having to relive this nightmare through video evidence in court.
There's no doubt that the footage played a crucial role in the judge's decision to detain both suspects, Coriz and Orozco, before trial. It's a stark reminder of how technology can both aid the justice process and increase the burden for victims’ loved ones. As much as we wish it were otherwise, this footage is a significant piece of evidence that could help ensure justice for Michael.
My thoughts are with Michael’s family during this unimaginable time. I hope the community can come together to support them and work towards preventing such tragedies in the future.
