Hi everyone, I've been following the posts about the tragic events in DeKalb County, and it's just so hard to wrap my head around it all. I couldn't stop thinking about the neighbors' stories about Mollian Johnson, especially how they described her as "the candy lady." It's those small, heartwarming gestures that show how much of a positive impact she had on her community. In neighborhoods, folks like Mollian really do become part of the family, and her kindness must have brought so much joy to those kids and their families. It's truly upsetting to think about how these children will never again experience the simple joy of getting a piece of candy from her or enjoy a meal she prepared on her back porch. It's a poignant reminder of the ripple effect such tragedies have on a community, especially when someone so cherished is taken away. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act. If anyone hears more about community efforts to support the families or memorials in Johnson’s honor, please share. It's important we continue to uphold her legacy of kindness in whatever way we can. Stay safe, everyone.
