I came across Aundair's story today, and it just breaks my spirit to see yet another promising young life taken so suddenly and without reason. I've been thinking about the pressures and challenges young people face these days, especially in communities where gun violence seems rampant. Aundair was clearly doing his best to better himself and support his family; his dream of going to West Virginia for a fresh start speaks volumes about his character and determination. It's so important for us as a community to rally around his family and those affected, offering whatever support we can. The fact that a juvenile suspect is involved makes it even more complex and painful. This loss goes beyond just Aundair's family and touches everyone who knew him or has heard his story. I hope the ongoing investigation brings the truth to light and we find ways to address these disturbing trends in youth violence. Sending all my love and strength to Aundair's family, especially his sister Shauntanair and his mother. We need to remember Aundair for the light and love he brought into this world, even if his time here was cut far too short.
