Hey everyone,
I've been following David Loasby's case since it happened, and I keep coming back to the snorkeling gear that was found. It's a bit strange to me that only some of his equipment was discovered, especially considering the extensive searches conducted over those few days. Does anyone know if there might be currents in that area capable of separating gear pieces without moving them too far from each other? Also, were there any reports of similar incidents around Makena around that time? Just curious if there might be a pattern or if this was a freak accident. Really hoping for any small clue that might offer a new perspective here. Any insights from locals or anyone familiar with ocean conditions in that area would be much appreciated!
I’ve been thinking about the snorkeling gear they found. It makes me curious about the ocean currents around Chang's Beach. My cousin used to live in Maui and said that area has notoriously unpredictable currents, especially with the strong winds. It's got me wondering if maybe his gear got separated from him because of a sudden change in the water conditions. Maybe the currents carried him further out to sea quickly, which would explain why they couldn’t find anything else. I’ve heard of situations where recovered items ended up miles away from where someone actually went missing. Anyone here familiar with the patterns around Makena? Could that have played a role in David’s disappearance?
