On a December day in Hawaii, David Loasby, a 62-year-old visitor from Wisconsin, was enjoying the waters of Maui. He was last seen snorkeling at the south end of Chang's Beach in Makena. Eyewitnesses observed him swimming in a southerly direction, navigating around a rocky point along the shoreline.
