Hi everyone, I’ve been digging into Robert Theodore Thompson's case a bit more and noticed something that might be worth discussing. Given his work as a transient carnival worker, I wonder if there might be a connection to others who went missing in similar roles around that time. Traveling fair workers often lived on the fringes and moved around a lot, making it hard for them to be tracked – both by police and loved ones. Has anyone else come across patterns or other disappearances involving carnival workers in the 70s, especially in the Pacific Northwest? Could there be a link, or am I just stretching here? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Has anyone looked into the possibility of Robert Theodore Thompson getting injured or worse while working at one of the fairs? Given his work as a cook and circus worker, it's possible he could've been in an accident. The fact that he had a partially amputated finger makes me wonder if he might have had other workplace incidents. Maybe something happened while he was working, and if so, there might be some record of it—especially if he had to visit a medical tent or if an accident was reported to the fair authorities. Anyone else think this angle is worth investigating further?
Has anyone else looked into the possibility that Robert might have used an alias? Given his lifestyle, it seems plausible he could've adopted a different name while traveling with the carnival. I know he had that distinctive partially amputated finger, but I'm curious if any records or anecdotes from other circus workers mention someone fitting Robert's description but using a different name. It makes me wonder if the transient nature of his work allowed him to blend in more easily, and that's part of why there's been little progress in finding him. Would love to hear any thoughts or if anyone has seen similar cases where the missing person might have changed their name but left some other identifying characteristics behind.
