I’ve been diving deep into the James Scott Rawlings case recently, and something that stands out to me is the abandoned car found in Mercer, WI. Why Mercer of all places? Given its location, it’s such a remote area and not even directly on the route to Alaska. It almost seems intentional, but without any other signs, it’s hard to pin down why. Did he have a connection there, or was it just a random stop gone wrong? The missing keys make it seem like someone else might have been involved too. I wonder if there were any reported sightings or even just odd happenings in that area around the time his car was discovered. Anyone here local or familiar with Mercer's history around the 80s who might share some insights?
